That’s my estimate of my recovery, but that last 25% is hard to recover. The good news is I have lost at least 15 pounds since I got home, so I don’t mind not having an appetite or having the energy to fix lots of fatty foods. I always say, nothing’s all good or all bad! I’d like to get below 250 before this bottoms out. Maybe my stomach will shrink enough to keep me from gaining back all that weight.
My mother has spent lots of time cooking, so we’re eating really well. I’m eating well, just not alot. Caleb said the other night that the food has been so good, maybe somebody in our house should be sick ALL the time. Frances and I have done our share, so it’s someone else’s turn!
Lou C. Thomas brought us over some wonderful potato soup and Bill Morris brought me a hamburger for lunch. I told him the same thing I will tell everyone: I prefer the fellowship to any food!
Next week, we have to go back to Bethesda for “clinic”. I think they will check my blood, do another CT scan, and tell me nothing’s happened yet. Even they don’t usually see any results within 30 days; it usually takes 60.
I’m also a chrome-dome, now. I can’t wait for my hair to grow back, but it’s taking its time. Even my beard is growing slow. I’ve only had to shave twice in two weeks; this is the first time in 44 years that I haven’t had to shave every day. That’s kind of nice, but the hair grows as slow as the beard, which is not. I’m hoping to be in church this coming Sunday.
Ok…so you don’t need anymore food. It’s a southern thang, ya know, for us to want to bring you food! Seein’ you in church on Sunday will be awesome!! Hugs!
